FP1002 : Longterm Outcomes Following Secondary Intraocular Lens Implantation

Aim-Report outcomes of secondary intraocular Lens(IOL) implantation with planned aphakia.

Methods : Retrospective study in aphakic patients who underwent secondary IOL implantation between January 2012 to December 2014 were included.

Result: Mean age of 15 children(15 eyes):5.91+2.51years with mean followup-36.02+1.8months.In 2 eyes(13.3%) single piece hydrophobic acrylic IOL implanted in the bag.In 11 eyes(86.7%),3 piece hydrophobic IOL implanted in the sulcus.In 1 eye PMMA scleral fixation IOL implanted.Postoperatively 5 eyes(33.3%) developed secondary glaucoma of which 2 eye required trabeculectomy.All eyes had well -centred IOL.Mean visual acuity:0.48+0.24Logmar.

Conclusion: Secondary IOL implantation is safe and effective,glaucoma needs to be kept in mind
