A 17 month old female presented with history of left eye orbital swelling since 20 days which was gradually progressive , not associated with fever, vomiting , or neurological complaints. Examination revealed left eye proptosis( non-reducible, non-compressible,no change in size with crying) , restricted ocular motility , chemosis, clear cornea, normal pupillary reactions and normal fundus. MRI orbit was suggestive of soft tissue swelling in upper lid extending into periorbita with normal outline of eyeball. Incisional biopsy of orbital mass showed multiple lymphoid appearing cells with IHC positive for LCA, CD79a, TDT , Pax-5, Ki67 index:25%. Diagnosis of B-cell Lymphoblastic lymphoma (NHL) was made. Bone marrow aspiration and biopsy , CSF cytology were normal. She was started on induction chemotherapy ,as per BFM protocol.
NHL Bcell Lymphoblastic lymphoma is a rare tumor in a girl child. Early diagnosis gave good clinical response( chemotherapy well tolerated).
