The standard treatment for anterior staphyloma is enucleation. However excision of whole globe is psychologically traumatic and many patients, particularly young patients and their guardians do not want to give consent and constantly insist in conserving the globe at any cost.In this scenario, it is some sort of solace to them if Staphylectomy, a less destructive surgery is offered to them, to which they may consent. A 12 year old girl attended the OPD with anterior staphyloma in her right eye with No PL vision with a very unsightly look. Patient and her guardian was councelled for enucleation. However they were opposed to the idea of enucleation, but readily consented to Staphylectomy. Staphylectomy with debulking of lens was done. Sclera and conjunctiva was sutured in layers. Conformer was fit, regular wound toileting was done.Artificial eye was fit after 14 days.Patient’s look and movement of prosthesis was good and she was satisfied for the feel of her eye-ball in its own place.
