The original “Sewing Machine Technique” (SMT) is based on sewing machine principle using a pre threaded 26G/30G needle with10/0 prolene suture for iris dialysis repair in closed chamber technique (6 patients). With few modifications it can be extended for IOL relocation (2),iris coloboma repair (2),cionni ring fixation–(1), & SFIOL (3) patients. The “Modified SMT” offers innovative, cost effective, minimally invasive procedure to tackle several complications related with cataract surgery easy to learn and teach.
