AIM: COMPARITIVE STUDY OF SECONDARY IMPLANTATION OF PCIOL VS SFIOL VS ACIOL IN CASES OF NUCLEUS DROP.
Methods: This retrospective study was carried out of all nucleus drop cases of last ten years. Informationwas collected from medical record database of the hospital. Patients were grouped based on type of surgery performed leading to drop &the plane in which IOL was. All data were collected according to a standard follow-up format.65 eyes undergone vitrectomy and lensectomy with IOL were examined. The statistical analysis was done using SPSS23.
Results: Final best-corrected visual acuity was 6/18 or better in 48% of eyes. ACIOL was implanted in 8%, sulcus in 80%, SFIOL in 3%& left aphakic with glass in 9%.
Conclusions: There were no significant differences in visual outcome &placing IOL in different anatomical planewas not a predictor of visual outcomes. Nonetheless, posterior segment complications including retinal detachment and glaucoma were major causes.
