Introduction :Neurotrophic keratopathy occurs due to various conditions and treatment can be challenging . Corneal reinnervation surgery is a proven option for treatment.
Methods: We conducted a corneal reinnervation surgery combined with glaucoma surgery in a diabetic , ocular ischaemic syndrome patient who also had thyroid eye disease and presented to us with neurotrophic diabetic corneal disease and refractory glaucoma .
Results: The cornea prior to surgery showed poor innervation and post surgery the corneal opacity cleared and the innervation was found to be normal at two months. At eight month follow up the patient is symptom free and has good innervation and visual acuity of 6/9 and normal pressures Discussion : We propose combining glaucoma surgery with corneal reinnervation surgery as a treatment option for corneal denervation and diabetic neuropathy patients who present with complex glaucoma and keratopathy due to diabetes, thyroid eye disease and ocular ischaemic syndrome
