FP222 : Pattern, Profile and Outcome of Ocular Cysticercosis in A Tertiary Eye Care Center in Northern India

Purpose : To describe the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, management, and outcome of ocular cysticercosis in a tertiary eye care center in Northan India.

Design : Retrospective observational case series.

Participants : A total of 14 patients with ocular cysticercosis.

Methods  : A retrospective case evaluation of consecutive patients, who were diagnosed to have ocular cysticercosis from Jan 2015 to Dec 2015, was done. The age, gender, and mode of presentation were noted. Detailed ophthalmological examination including visual acuity, slit lamp biomicroscopy, IOP recording and indirect ophthalmoscopy was performed. B-scan ultrasonography was done wherever required.
Physical examination was performed in all cases to detect cysticercus if present in other parts of body. TLC, DLC, ESR and ELISA for cysticercus were done. CT scan and MRI were done as per requirement in each case.
Medical management was initially given in all cases of extraocular cysticercosis which consist of oral Albendazole 15 mg/kg/day along with tablet prednisolone 1.5 mg/k
