Aim – Contracted socket reconstruction using dermofat graft.Purpose-To study the use of gluteal dermofat graft for reconstruction of congenitally contracted socket.
Methods – 2 patients were assessed clinically and prepared and workup was done.Both patients had a rudimentary eyeball in the orbit and underwent enucleation and socket reconstruction surgery under GA using gluteal dermofat graft and 2 months later prosthetic eye was put successfully.
Results – Dermofat graft was taken up successfully in the orbit prosthesis could be easily placed in the orbit after reconstruction surgery.
Conclusion – Gluteal dermofat graft is a stable graft with good results for socket reconstruction
