Dr. Mritunjay Sharma, Dr. (Mrs.) Bharati Gogoi, Dr. J I Ahmed

A 60 yrs male presented with gradual swelling of right upper eyelid since 15 yrs along with gradual diminusion of vision in right eye with proptosis, downward displacement of eyeball with severe cosmetic deformity since 2 yrs. MRI scan revealed a large complex right peri-orbital mass showing intra-orbital extention across medial and lateral extra-conal spaces with compression of right optic nerve. There was intra-cranial extention along the superior and inferior orbital fissure with involvement of right cavernous sinus. A clinic-radiological diagnosis of trigeminal schwannoma was made. Patient was scheduled for surgery and gross total excision was done along with enucleation of right eye. Histopathological examination revealed cellular schwannoma. The post operative results and follow-up are reviewed.
