Congenital corneal staphyloma is rare congenital disorder with keratinized, ectatic cornea protruding anteriorly.Presence of systemic features(cleft palate & VSD)facilitated in it being diagnosed as a clinical variant of Peters anomaly.A 5mth old female child reported for management of a deformed, bulging blind R/E.She was a normal FTND with no H/o ocular discharge at birth.Examination of R/E revealed a finding of keratinized and ectatic 9mm anteriorly bulging cornea(hard lesion, corneal staphyloma).Sonogram of R/E showed RD.L/E was WNL.Systemic examination was WNL except for partial cleft palate & ventricular septal defect. She was diagnosed one of the clinical variants of Peters anomaly.RD alongwith cardiac malformations are rare associations of it. Due to severe deformity and total loss of vision, enucleation with implant was done. The high index of suspicion & timely pediatric opinion helps in identifying such oblivion causes of morbidity & timely management may be life saving for some.
