FP781 : To Study the Association of Systemic Illness with Retinal Vein Occlusion(Rvo)

Purpose: Identify the association of RVO with systemic disorders and improvement in vision with control of systemic disease.

Methods:Prospective,randomized study on 50 patients (30 BRVO and 20 CRVO) from August 2015 to April2016.

Results: 50 patients;64% males and 36% females with mean age 46.60% hadBRVO; 40% CRVO. Hypertension and Diabetes mellitus together accounted 56%. Isolated hypertension (36%) followed by IHD (18%). 68% had uncontrolled and 32%controlled systemic illness.S.Homocystine high in 81.8%. Vision after Avastin injection improved in 36.8%, 22.22% after Argon laser, 50% after IVTA

Conclusions: RVO can thus be prevented by systemic controland prompttreatment.
