Aim: Cataract is the most common blinding disorder of the world. There are many techniques by which the cataract can be ameliorated. Phacoemulsification has been the most accepted technique and widely practised across the world. Problem starts when a new ophthalmologist wish to learn and master the technique. Unfortunately there have been very few centers which run a structured training program for learning & budding phaco surgeons which allows them to learn each and every step of phacoemulsification from the very basic.

Method: This video is about our centre where as a part of structured resident training programs, the most frequently encountered steps where resident usually fails i.e. Capsulorrhexis step or the nucleus dealing step, & other steps where they are unable to perform the entire procedure independently.

Conclusion: A step-by-step structured training program helps residents become more experienced with eye & machine control.
