The human face is composed of small functional and cosmetic units of forehead, eyelids, face and neck. Aging of any of the oculofacial units lead to facial imbalance and functional disharmony. Understanding the basic aging changes of oculofacial units is important in deciding its management. This instruction course will present the dynamics of oculofacial aging and will highlight the principles of aesthetic lid surgeries having twofold implications of cosmetic and functional correction emphasizing the types, techniques, complications and its management. Moreover, it will display the alternative oculofacial procedures in relation to functional implications of upper and lower lid blepharoplasties, variation in Asian and Caucasian blepharoplasty and
aesthetic approach to functional eyelid condition. The course will help the ophthalmic plastic surgeon develop a framework to improve patient selection, communication and expectation management with enhanced surgical judgment and skill.
