PURPOSE: To present a case of unresolved bilateral EPIBLEPHARON, which has been corrected successfully by surgical intervention.
METHOD: A 10 years old boy was consulted in tertiary health care center with chief complain of watering, foreign body sensation and redness of BE since birth associated with inward turning of eyelashes of lower lid of BE. After complete slit lamp examination patient was diagnosed as a case of unresolved bilateral lower lid congenital EPIBLEPHARON. Patient was treated for the same by surgical intervention (Modified Hotz procedure), one eye followed by the other.
RESULT: Abnormal lash position corrected in BE lower lids without lower lid ectropion or lower lid retraction & Patient was relieved of his symptoms by immediate postoperative period.
CONCLUSION: Congenital lid anomalies like EPIBLEPHARON when unresolved can be treated surgically with good post-operative anatomical & cosmetic results.
