This video showcases the novel technique of IOFB removal in a patient with cooker blast injury who had primary wound repair done elsewhere. The patient had retained multiple metallic foreign bodies. This technique consists of sutureless removal of large, sharp foreign bodies using intraocular forceps, delivering them through a self sealed sclerocorneal tunnel.A thorough vitrectomy with careful indentation examination and base dissection facilitated the removal of the foreign bodies. As the patient was aphakic an iris scaffold was used to remove the foreign bodies using the hand shake technique. An iris fixated lens was also implanted at the same sitting for aphakia correction. This video highlights the importance of preplanning the incisions, thorough vitrectomy procedure, iris scaffold and the hand shake technique. The advantages of this technique is less sclerostomy related and suture related complications; lesser hospital stay for the patient and quick visual rehabilitation.
