Introduction -To find the incidence of ROP in preterm and LBW infants and to evaluate various risk factors

Methodology –In this study, sample population of 150 preterm babies from special neonatal care unit of our hospital and OPD of Department of Ophthalmology from March-2015 to February 2016.Babies with LBW,preterm, oxygen exposure for 20 days or more,septicaemia and hyperbilirubinaemia were included

Discussion- Retinopathy of prematurity is a disorder of the developing retinal blood vessels of the premature infant and is a complex disease ranging from mild transient changes to severe vasoproliferation,scarring and detachment leading to blindness

Conclusion¬- In our study, The overall incidence of ROP-26.6% Maximum incidence of ROP (45%) in birth weight<1kg  Maximum incidence of ROP(57.50%) in gestational age<28 weeks
