Dr. Manisha Nagpal, N16935, Dr. Sarita Beri

Extradural hematoma with orbital subperiosteal extension associated with orbital roof fracture is a rare entity. This study reports a case of 14-year-old male child who sustained trauma to right eye (RE) with a cricket ball presented with progressive increased bulging of RE over a period of 24 hours associated with mild pain, redness, watering and double vision. His glasgow coma score was 15/15 with no neurologic deficits. Proptosis of the RE was observed with displacement of globe inferiorly and outwards, gross restriction of ocular movements along with exposure keratopathy and lacrimal gland prolapse. NCCT Head and orbit demonstrated fracture of roof of orbit associated with a small extradural and extraconal hematoma resulting in downward and outward displacement of right globe. Neurology consultation taken, with no indication for evacuation of extradural hematoma, however, conservative management was done to manage this case and had a favourable outcome over a period of 6 weeks.
