Purpose: To successfully diagnose and treat a leision of Vasoproliferative Tumor of Retina(VPTR)

Methods: A 47 year old female came with C/O diminution of vision in LE since 2 months, which was gradually progressing. O/E, LE- UCVA-6/18, no improvement on pinhole, fundus showed a reddish-yellow globular vascular mass in the equatorial inferotemporal retina surrounded by retinal exudation, punctate intraretinal haemorrhages and macular edema. OCT confirmed clinical findings. FFA showed early filing and late leakage and dilated feeder vessels.

Results: A diagnosis of VPTR was made after considering and ruling out differential diagnosis of capillary haemangioma, Coat’s disease, peripheral exudative chorioretinopathy and malignant metastatis. It was treated with triple freeze-thaw cryotherapy. 6 months post of, visual acuity improved to 6/12, with partial resolution of exudates and haemorrhages.

Conclusion: Early diagnosis and treatment of VPTR is essential for decreasing visual morbidity.
