Aims: To identify the prognostic factors with good visual outcome after rhegmatogenous detachment surgery.
Material & Methods: We have 62 eyes of 59 patients; out of which 41 (66.1%) were males and 21 (33.8%) were females. We did surgery in al case buckling. BB+PPV or primary PPV. Tamponade Oil or C3F8 used. 6 month follow up after SOR was noted in our study.
Results: Status of SRF post-operatively was found to be a significant factor affecting vision recovery (p=0.001). No significant difference was noted in terms of various anterior segment findings (p=0.11), regarding additional procedure (p=0.05), duration of additional procedure (p=0.22), compliance (p=0.4), regarding additional procedure done (p=0.05) and duration of additional procedure (p=0.22).
Conclusion: Final BCVA was also found to be significantly different (p<0.001) within study groups which shows patients who had the best visual recovery were having poor pre-op BCVA. Duration of vision loss did not affect visual outcome.
