Patients who presented to a tertiary referral centre with periorbital/orbital trauma were studied for overall clinicoepidemiologic profile and important causes of periorbital and orbital injuries in various age groups. Those cases with minor cuts and abrasions not requiring primary repair, and thermal and chemical injuries were excluded. A total of 118 patients were studied, of which, 86% were males. The most common place of injury in patients less than 18years was at home while it was outdoors(RTA) in older patients. Blouse hook injury is most common cause of injury in children less than 5 year old. This injury is peculiar to Indian scenario. The most common type of injury was canalicular injury in children less than 5 years, while lid laceration was the most common injury in patients above 18 years. Other noted injuries were orbital floor fractures and traumatic optic neuropathy. Associated ocular injury were seen in 11% cases.
