Purpose : To do the detailed eye examination in global developmental delay and cerebral palsy children for refractive error and other eye problems for better visual rehabilitation.
Method : A total of 28 children diagnosed as Global developmental delay and 11 children Cerebral palsy referred from pediatric department were undergone detailed eye examination.
Results : Central study maintenance (CSM) was not maintained in 2 of Global developmental delayed children and 3 of Cerebral palsy children. 3 children of Cerebral palsy showed positive menase reflex. 3 children of GDD and 2 children of CP presented with Horizontal nystagmus. Esotropia was present in 4 children of GDD whereas 6 children of CP showed exotropia. Refractive error was present in 2 children of GDD and 3 children of CP. 2 children of GDD and 6 Children of CP showed abnormal fundus.
Conclusion : Visual assessment in Global developmental delayed and CP children always neglected by most of the ophthalmologist. But it is equally important to do detailed eye examination in these childr
