MTM is found in 9-34% of high myopic eyes. The management comprises of vitrectomy±ILM peel.We evaluated the efficacy and safety of vitrectomy with ILM peel on 5 eyes with MTM.In this prospective interventional case series,2 eyes had macular retinoschisis(MR) and foveal detachment(FD), and 3 eyes had macular hole with subretinal fluid(MHRD).All eyes underwent pars plana vitrectomy with ILM peeling and C3F8 gas/ Silicon oil tamponade. All patients were followed up for best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA) and mean macular thickness(MMT).The mean age was 52.4±5.9 years. The mean spherical equivalent was 12.8±5.01.The mean postoperative BCVA at 3 months significantly improved from 0.093 to 0.256(p=0.01).The MMT decreased from 862.59µ to 447.8µ(p=0.07).The 2 eyes with MR/FD showed complete resolution of MTM.Out of the 3 eyes with MHRD, 2 eyes showed type 2 macular hole closure; while the third eye showed recurrence of subretinal fluid at 6 weeks post-op.There was no other complication noted.
