PURPOSE : To present a case of unresolved bilateral EPIBLEPHARON which has been corrected successfully by surgical intervention.
METHOD : A 10 year old boy was consulted in tertiary health care centre with chief complain of watering, foreign body sensation and redness of BE since birth associated with inward turning of eyelashes of lowerlid of BE. After complete slit lamp examination patient was diagnosed as a case of bilateral EPIBLEPHARON. Patient was treated by surgical intervention, one eye followed by the other.
RESULTS : Abnormal lashes position were corrected in BE lower lids.Patient was relieved of his symptoms in immediate postoperative period.
CONCLUSION : Congenital lid anomalies like EPIBLEPHARON when unresolved can be treated surgically with good post-operative anatomical & cosmetic results.
