FP32 : Descmetopexy with Perfluoropropane (C3f8) Gas in A Case of Iatrogenic Descmet’s Membrane Detachment

Dr. Dharmil Doshi, D15763a

We are presenting a case of 60 years old female patient who have underwent left eye cataract surgery with phacoemulsification and PCIOL implantation at another hospital 10 days ago. patient came to us with complains of blurring of vision, redness, watering and photophobia in left eye after the surgery which were not improved with eyedrops. On slit lamp examination we found descmet’s membrane detachment (most probably iatrogenic) with corneal edema and descmet’s folds in LE. Visual acuity CF 1meter, IOP 16 mmHg. Rest of the anterior segment findings were normal. We did HD AS-OCT which showed DM detachment with increased corneal thickness. We advised the patient for Descmetopexy. We injected 0.1 ml of 14%(isovolumetric)C3F8 gas in anterior chamber & ask the patient to maintain strict supine position for atleast 24 hours. On next day we found that DM is completely attached with gas bubble in place. HD AS-OCT was done & it showed same thing. We followed up regularly. At 2 week VA was 6/9.
