Purpose : To study keratometric, pachymetric & elevation parameters between keratoconus and myopic astigmatism eyes by corneal tomography(Scheimpflug imaging)
Methods : This hospital based comparative type observational study included 70 eyes in group A (keratoconus) and 70 eyes in group B(myopic astigmatism).Pachymetry, keratometry, elevation measurements and indices were quantified and analysed using corneal tomography.
Results : Mean value of keratometry in grp A (k1 47.1±6 D, k2 51.1±6.8, km 49±6) and grp B (k1 42.9±1.7, k2 45.8±1.9 ,km 44.3±1.6), elevation parameters(max post elevation) in grp A(58.2±41.6) and group B( 30.9±13.3)and pachymetry measurements (CCT &CTmin ) in grp A ( 469.1±40.2μ, 444.7±66.7) and in grp B(525.9±37.5, 521.3±38.1)
Conclusion : Keratometry & elevation parameters are significantly higher & pachymetry measurements are significantly lower in keratoconus which provide more accurate information for diagnosis and differentiation of keratoconus and myopic astigmatism
