[FP430] : Fluctuation in Intra-Ocular Pressure After Short Term Use of Loteprednol Etabonate Eye Drop

Dr. Nabanita Neogi, N13650

Purpose: To evaluate the fluctuation in Intra-ocular pressure (IOP) after short term use of Loteprednol etabonate.

Method: A retrospective review of total 72 eyes of 36 patients, treated with topical Loteprednol etabonate (5 mg/ml) was carried out after considering inclusion and exclusion criteria. IOP was measured on the day of first presentation and after 1 week of the treatment.
Results: of the 36 patients, 20 were male and 16 were female patients. The mean age of the patients was 39.34 yrs.The range of baseline IOP was 10 mmHg and 21 mmHg with the mean of 14.87 ± 2.83 mmHg. The range of 1 week follow up IOP was 11 mmHg and 22 mmHg with the mean of 16.02 ± 2.75 mmHg. The mean difference of IOP between the baseline and 1 week follow up was 1.18 ± 1.84 mmHg with a P – value of 0.001599.

Conclusion: short term use of Loteprednol etabonate eye drop does not cause significant IOP fluctuation.
