Purpose: To report 2 cases of uveal melanoma with atypical presentation in blind eyes
Method:Case 1: Patient with total leucomatous corneal opacity with staphyloma and no PL presented with pain since 3 days. USG B-scan showed choroidal mass; MRI suggestive of malignancy
Case 2: Patient with history of chronic uveitis, complicated cataract, glaucoma and no PL presented with pain since 4 days. Sclera showed pigmented areas and pigment clumps seen in anterior chamber.USG B-scan showed thickening of iris and ciliary body; MRI suggestive of malignancy Enucleation done in both cases
Results: Histopathology reports revealed mixed cell type melanoma in both cases
Conclusion: Uveal Melanomas are misdiagnosed or lately diagnosed in blind eye due to absence of classic presentation and so painful blind eyes should be properly evaluated for any pathology.
