Aim-study done evaluate predisposing factors,etiology,clinical presentation ocular trauma.method-cross sectional descriptive study done

Ophthalmology.duration-6 months.50 patients included.detailed history,complete ophthalmic examination,visual profile,slit lamp biomicroscopy,fundus examination with 90d,indirect ophthalmoscopy,ultrasonography done.results-males(86.8%),outnumbered female(13.2%) and children(<16years) constituted 46.8% .majority compromised monocular trauma(89%).58.9% arrived between 4-24 hours,28% after 24 hours.cause injury road traffic accident(32.7%),sports playing and recreational activities(25.5%) occupational(33%). anterior segment involved 51.1%,posterior segment(8.9%),both (31.4%).factors associated with visual impairment(va<6/18) poor initial visual acuity,full chamber hyphaema,retinal detachment and vitreous hemorrhage.

Conclusion-simple measures such as education regarding use of protective eye wear significantly decrease preventable cause visual disability.
