Purpose: To report a case of unilateral Marcus gunn jaw winking phenomenon without evidence of ptosis.
Method: Case report
Result: 2 years old female child brought by her mother, reported movements of left upper eye lid during chewing since birth. Antenatal and systemic history was unremarkable. On examination palpebral fissure height and Marginal Reflex Distance-1 (MRD-1) were equal on both sides without any evidence of ptosis. Mild Marcus gunn jaw winking phenomena was noted on left side. Parents were reassured and were advised to be under regular follow up
Conclusion: Though rare, Marcus gunn jaw winking phenomena can exist wihtout ptosis. The condition can just be observed in mild cases, while surgical correction can be offerred if patient is cosmetically bothered.
