FP881 : Self-Medication in Ophthalmology Amongst Paediatric Patients

Aim:This study is designed to determine the proportion of paediatric patients who practice self medication, the drugs employed and the reasons for resorting to self medication in Ophthalmological morbidities.

Methods and Materials:This study will be conducted between April and July, 2016 at the Department of Ophthalmology, Silchar Medical College and Hospital, Assam. One thousand patients will be selected by simple random sampling and interviewed.Semi structured questionnaire will be administered to the respondents by the authors with trained assistants at the department.

RESULTS:Results and observations will be derived only after completion of the study.

DISCUSSION:this study focuses on the pediatric patient who are exposed to self medication due to parent negligence and children are harmed..
