Aim- To compare the recurrence rate of pterygium after conjunctival autograft with suture and without suture or glue in primary pterygium excision
Material and Method- The present prospective analytical study was performed in department of ophthalmology in period of two years. Total 60 cases were included in this study and divided into two groups. Group A included 30 cases who were treated by conjunctival autograft with suture[ 10-0 nylon] and group B included 30 cases who were treated with suture free glue free conjunctival autograft [ patients own blood acts as bed for placing a donor graft]. Anesthesia used was peribulbar block in all patients. All patients were followed postoperatively for 6 months to find out recurrence [defined as a fibro vascular tissue invading the cornea 1 mm or more]
Results- There was only 1 [3.33%] recurrence in both groups and it was statistically not significant in both groups. Most common postoperative complication in both groups was foreign body sensation, in group A it was continued for 6 to
