IC110 – KERATCONUS – PARADIGM SHIFT IN MANAGEMENT

Dr. Shreyas Ramamurthy [R14399] – Coimbatore

Over the past decade management of Keratoconus has seen a paradigm shift with numerous treatment options to chose from. The course will begin with focus on newer imaging modalities and parameters in Scheimpflug and Anterior segment OCT for early diagnosis of ectasia. Recent advances and variations available in cross linking will be highlighted. The audience will then witness a shift in gear with decision
making, planning, technique & controversies in topography guided treatments and intracorneal ring segments being discussed threadbare. Subsequent management of residual refractive errors can be challenging and ways of chosing the right options will be discussed effectively. Dealing with ensuing complications of combined refractive procedures with cross linking and the final frontier of deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty will be included giving the audience a comprehensive overview of the multitude of treatment options in keratoconus.
