IC182 – PROCEDURE STATION. HOW TO DO? HOW TO DEPICT/ INTERPRET?

Dr. Kirti Singh [K04958] – New Delhi

The basic investigations in ophthalmology are the key stones in managing common ophthalmological problems.nDue to differing levels of training imparted to our postgraduate students in this diverse country, the skillsm in interpreting and performing these investigations are not standardized. This course will address 7 investigations – slit lamp examination, investigations critical in managing glaucoma, strabismus, vitreoretinal diseases – gonioscopy, visual field, prism bar testing, indirect ophthalmoscopy and critical skill of interpreting corneal topography and posterior segment ultrasound. Case based discussion emphasizing ambiguous findings where correct interpretation saved vision would be highlighted. A brief road map detailing how to go about, patient instruction/ preparation, with special emphasis on what not to do would be provided in the form of handouts for first 50 participants.
