Dr. Giridhar Anantharaman [G03174] – Kochi
One of the recent development in vitreo retina is the understanding of the vitreomacular interface (VMI) using SD-OCT and the changing paradigms in the management of VMI disorders. Course gives an overview of thediagnosis and management of VMI disorders with case examples, video demonstration of surgical techniques including complications, followed by panel discussion. Course is divided into: SD-OCT Morphology, classication of VMI & VMT; VMI and impending macular holes : observation/Intravitreal Gas/Ocriplasmin; Epiretinal Membrane : Importance of SD-OCT, selection of cases and surgical techniques; Outcomes in Macular Hole Surgery – does size of ILM peel matter; Choice of surgery in macular holes – ILM peeling Vs. Inverted Flap; Current understanding of lamellar macular holes based on SD OCT – when will I suggest surgery and surgical techniques; VMI in diab retinopathy-interpretation and surgical management.
