IC479 – COMBINED CATARACT & POSTERIOR SEGMENT SURGERIESSINGLE SURGERY,MULTIPLE BENEFITS

Dr. Virendra Agrawal [A05617] – Jaipur

Cataract surgery is commonly required after radical vitreous surgery especially in patients having pre existing lenticular changes. Many cases also are being done with a 2 step stage with preparatory phacoemulsification before the primary retinal surgery, which in some cases adversely aect the nal visual outcome because of the delay between two surgeries ( especially in cases of retinal detachment). Separate surgeries also frequently increase the morbidity and recovery time for the patient. In the era of suture less vitrectomy (MIVS) and MICS, combined approach in many cases result in improved outcomes & faster rehabilitation of the patient. This video assisted course will highlight the indications, techniques and management of complications for combined surgeries.
