Cataract surgery is commonest procedure in ophthalmology.Tertiary institues face challenging aphakias everyday. In such cases, sulcus fixation,ACIOL,iris sutured, scleral fixated, glued & iris claw IOL are options.Sulcus fixation is safest but cant be done if capsule or zonules are compromised.ACIOL is obsolete. The other techniques are complex, technically demanding,a long learning curve and needs VR backup This Iris fixated Iol will be the most suitable option for the anterior segment surgeons. This Video will show the Iris claw IOL technique and a brief introduction about the IOL and also explained how its done in a normal aphakia and then slowing on to other challenging cases and how it can be manages by doing simple anterior vitrectomy and placing the Posterior chamber iris fixated IOL. like Post traumatic aphakia , Iris coloboma , Superior Iridodialysis,Post Vr surgery. The video will clearly demonstrate the technique involved in the procedure.
