Aim: To demonstrate a new double tooth phaco chopper and new lateral seperation chopping technique in all types of cataract. Materials and Methods: Phaco chopper is a essential instrument in phaco surgery.Here we have demonstrated a new phaco chopper and new lateral separation chopping technique in all types of cataract and also in semi dilated pupil.New phaco chopper is having a blunt double tooth (tissue friendly) at the tip with 1 mm gap in between.Curve at the base of the tooth helps to hold the eyeball under topical anaesthesia and stretch the pupil.Wider surface area of contact at the tip helps for controlled and stress free chopping. New method of chopping is lateral seperation which is “chopping in situ” and “safe zone chopping” Result: Double tooth phaco chopper is a swiss knife among choppers.It acts as a chopper ,lens manipulator, lens rotator, eye ball fixator and pupil stretcher. And lateral seperation is safe,fast and easy with less zonular stress and no learning curve.
