Aim: To make basic understanding of strabismus easy in day to day practice. Materials and methods: Take a case as a mathematical algebraic puzzle. Grab all the necessary tools. First necessity is clinical suspicion. Only key is meticulous history taking and generous examination in sequential manner, done with patience. We need to know presence of fusion, suppression and deviation with its measurement. Visionwith proper refraction and fundus examination followed by sensory and motor examination should be done. These direct us to the diagnosis as solving a mathematical problem. Most important point of consideration is proper method of performing various tests in primary gaze as well as in strabismic position.Further, these calculations help in planning appropriate resection and recession to be performed. Conclusion: Developing sequential approach as a habit will definitely make strabismus understanding easy.
