Canalicular trauma is caused by direct or indirect injury to the canaliculus-leads to scarring & stenosis may cause epiphora. It is important for eyelid margin & canaliculus to be repaired to restore eyelid anatomy & pump and drainage physiology.Aim: Presenting case series of canalicular tear treated successfully with canaliculostomyprocedure using different material.
Method:Canaliculostomy involves intubation of the residual canalicular stump & upper canaliculus with silicone tubing and suturing the surrounding perivascular tissue around it.Result:Following canaliculostomy procedure all patients were symptomatically free from epiphora.
Conclusion:Canaliculostomy is successfully used in canalicular trauma, eyelid resection, canthal deformity & congenital eyelid abnormalities to reconstruct canalicular physiological function
