AIM: Lenticular complication following Trabeculectomy is not un-common. Method: In this series of videos, we will be demonstrating the way how cataract develops during intra-operative procedure or postoperatively.
Result: The video will show the progress of surgery and the steps which will leads to gradual lenticular opacities in the time to come postoperatively. The videos will also demonstrate what are the steps commonly involve and how one can anticipate and use preventive measures to avoid such inadvertent complications. The steps are: 1. Maintenance of intraoperative meiosis.2. Avoidance of touching the anterior capsule 3.Avoidance of bleeding during glaucoma filtering surgery. 5.To avoid vigorous iris manipulation. 5. The right place, time, right amount of wound modulation drugs used during the surgery, adequate flushing of the applied area.
Conclusion: The development of visually significant cataract is common after glaucoma surgery but few precautions can avoid it.
