AIM: Review results of sulcus fixated pmma iol using capsular remnant.

Methods: We retrospectively studied secondary intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in 904 aphakic eyes from 2003 to 2015.We studied scleral fixated iol out of them. All data retrieved from EMR,the pre & postoperative visual acuity & other details were recorded. The data was analysed using SPSS22.

Result: Of all 904 cases of Aphakia,740 (81.8%) were sulcus fixated pmma iol using capsular remnant as support. Mean age was 61+/-8.7 When compared final visual outcome was >6/18 in 56%, and post operative visual outcome significantly affected by presenting vision, experience of surgeon ,stage of complication in primary surgery and patient age different P<0.00, secondary glaucoma, lens malposition and inflammation were main causes for not improvement of vision.

Conclusion: Sulcus fixation PMMA lens on capsular remnant is a safe and effective technique causing significant improvement in vision in case of aphakia.
