Purpose: To describe the various clinical presentations, imaging and histopathological characteristics and management of orbital lymphoproliferative diseases
Methods: Prospective, interventional case series
Results: Seven cases seen, among 108 cases of orbital tumours presenting over 3 years, 5 cases of orbital lymphoma (OL) and 2 cases of benign lymphoid hyperplasia (BLH). Mean age was 60 years for OL and 22 years for BLH. Ptosis and painless swelling were the most common presenting features. Supero-lateral quadrant and extra-conal location were common. On imaging OL showed well defined homogenous mass moulding along the globe. All patients underwent incisional biopsy and histopathology was diagnostic. All patients were treated with radiotherapy or chemotherapy or surgical excision. Mean follow-up was 2 years.
Conclusion: Orbital lymphoproliferative diseases should be kept in mind in differential diagnosis of lesions of orbit. Prognosis is good with appropriate treatment.
