INTRODUCTION : Boat-shaped preretinal haemorrhages are labelled as subhyaloid h’ages.Their proposed location between the posterior hyaloid and ILM and exact location is controversial. Precise clinical localisation is difficult. A sub-ILM rather than sub-hyaloid location has been proposed with  swept source OCT(SS-OCT) the latest with greater penetration and resolution.

AIM :To report Swept source -OCT as a tool to differentiate subhyaloid from sub ILM hemorrhage.

METHODS : We report a case series of 5 patients with SHH of varied etiology from DR,trauma,Tersons syn-drome presenting with sudden diminution vision. SS-OCT was performed on all these patients which revealed the exact location of the hemorrhage(SH,Sub ILM)

CONCLUSION :  SS-OCT is valuable for localization of preretinal hemorrhages is useful for prognosticating, time for resolution and can differentiate the serum from heme component of SHH or Sub ILM hemorr-hage.Simultaneous visualization of ILM and posterior hyaloid is possible.
