A female patient 21 yrs old primi who had still birth on 02-05-2016 was referred to ophthalmology department with a complaint of sudden loss of vision in both eyes. She was under treatment for P.I.H./ Eclampsia, she had a B.P. of 170/110 with serum creatinine 1.8 mg proteinuria.
Systemic complaints are like irritation, delirium, headache, drowziness with blurred vision and convulsions.Ophthalmic examination showed bilateral serous/exudative retinal detachment with macular involvement.
Her vision is P.L.+ve in both eyes. Advised to continue treatment for PIH, and to take tab. Diamox, tab. Prednisilone 40mg, antacids with moxi KT eds 4 times.
She has regained her vision within 4 to 5 days with above treatment Conclusion:Out of 15 years of experience at G.G.H., we have seen this single case of sudden bilateral serous retinal detachment which is very rare case and has and got re attached within 4 to 5 days. Observation and assurance is important is managing this type cases
