Purpose: Present study is aimed to evaluate the prevalence, age, gender distribution and spectrum of morphological changes of VMI disorders.
Methods: A cross sectional study of 158patients (194eyes) who presented with optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings related to vitreomacular interface during September2014- March2016 in tertiary care centre Jharkhand was done and classified according to IVTS classification.
Result: Most common VMI disorder is PVD in 76eyes (39%) followed by FTMH in 49eyes(25%), least common is pseudohole in only 1eye. Most cases found in Diabetic Retinopathy(DR)(41%), PVD was more common in eyes with AMD, other association were CRVO-5eyes, BRVO-1eye and trauma in 8eyes. Mean age group 51.5yrs (18-85yrs), with highest rate in >60 yrs(p<0.05), male(141eyes,72.6%)were affected more than female(53eyes,27.3%)(p<0.05).
Conclusion: PVD was found to be most common in old age male patients followed by FTMH. Main associated factors are higher age, male gender and DR.
