Purpose:To evaluate various anterior segment parameters in normal indian children using pentacam
Methods:Total of 120 children aged 5-18yrs participated in this cross sectional observational study.Non-invasive Pentacam Scheimpflug imaging device was used to measure central corneal thickness(CCT),Thinnest corneal thickness(TCT),apex corneal thickness(ACT),mean corneal radii(Kmax),corneal volume(CV),Anterior chamber depth(ACD),Anterior chamber volume(ACV),Anterior chamber angle (ACA),white to white diameter (W2W),pupil diameter(PD)
Results: Mean age was 10.5 years.Mean values of CCT,TCT,ACT,Kmax,CV,ACD,ACV,ACA,W2W,PD were 542.27±40.73,532.40±49.96,538.56±42.2,45.07±1.75,62.74±7.05,3.12±0.36,174±28.75,37.38±7.60,11.93±0.40,3.52±0.92.Weaker but significant correlations were encountered between ocular parameters.
Conclusions: Different measurement procedures and ethnic background preclude any direct comparison of the present results with published data.No significant difference was observed between right and left eye
