Material and Methods : A 62/F presented with 2 mo. history of diminution of vision post Cataract Sx in RE.
BCVA – OD : CF @ 1 mtr & OS : 6/12. IOP – OD : 15 mm Hg & OS : 17 mm Hg.Complete ophthalmic evaluation with Fundus Photo, Fundus fluorescein angiography, B Scan and Optical coherence tomography were performed as baseline examination. A diagnosis of RE Idiopathic uveal effusion syndrome was made.
After a 360 conjunctival peritomy, bridle sutures to all 4 recti were taken. 6×6 mm square mark was made in the middle of the superonasal and inferonasal quadrants under peribulbar block. Using a beaver blade more than 3/4 thickness of the sclera was excised. In the middle of the window a small piece of sclera was removed to make a full thickness opening.
Results : Fundus photo OD showing exudative retinal detachment, mottled pigmentation.
Fluorescein angiography showed mottled fluorescence with multiple hypo and hyper fluorescence areas.
