FP1342 : Long Term Follow Up of Dalk in Keratoconus

Purpose: To report long term outcome of manual deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty(DALK) for advanced keratoconus with or without scarring but sparing the endothelium.

Methods:
Sixty two eyes of advanced Keratoconus undergone DALK by manual lamellar dissection with effect from 1992 were evaluated at the end of at least 10 years.

Results :
All the grafts were clear with good endothelial morphology. Visual aquity was good in all. None revealed corneal ectasia and corneal thickness was maintained.

Conclusion:
Though there is lot of advanced method of dissections are advocated, the age old method of manual dissection could provide the good outcome.
