Aim : To study the use of gluteal dermofat graft and mucosal graft for construction of contracted socket.
Methods : Patient was assessed clinically and her workup was done . The patient had contracted socket with a rudimentary eyeball in the orbit and had history of failed surgery in past , she underwent enucleation and socket reconstruction surgery under GA using gluteal dermofat graft along with buccal mucosal graft and a month later prosthetic eye was put successfully.
Observation : Dermofat graft along with buccal mucosal graft was taken up successfully in the orbit. Prosthesis could be easily placed in the orbit after reconstruction surgery.
Conclusion : Gluteal dermofat graft along with buccal mucosal graft is a stable graft with good results for socket reconstruction
