Purpose: To study and analyse patients referred for speciality opinion to an Eye Care Hospital from various camps and MEC from april 2015 to april 2016.

Methods: 444 patients out of 17,000 examined at camp and MEC and referred to various specialities-Cornea(C),Retina(R),Glaucoma(G),Squint(SQ),occuloplasty(OC) analysed based on distance of referred site to referral site.

Results: All referred patients were divided into 3 tertiles based on median distance(km) and interquartile range-A-20(0-30),B-60(45-90),c-125(125-145). For G, patients referred were 19%,23%,12% in A,B,C respectively(0.06). For C, 15%, 13%,22% in A,B,C respectively(p=0.1). For SQ, 5%,7%,6% in A,B,C respectively(0.70). For R, 45%,41%,46% (0p=0.669)and for OQ 5%,8%,8%(p=0.61) in A,B,C respectively.

Conclusion: Maximum references from all tertiles and among all specialities were from Retina indicating need to increase screening for retinal diseases. Minimum references for A was from Oculoplasty and for B,C from Squint.
